CAPERS Star Wars Lifepath

I have been watching Andor as of late and I was reminded of how good I think CAPERS is of a system do do star wars in. So I made a modified version of the lifepath system found in the expanded book to be more suitable to star wars. You can find it here.

CAPERS: Critical Part 1

I have been thinking about supers rpgs recently so I started thinking about CAPERS. Then I started thinking about CAPERS: Cyberpunk, and then about getting limbs and stuff replaced. What better time to do this than after losing one after someone with an axe chops it off. It can make the game much more brutal but I like that sort of thing. I cover the physical sources of damage in this part. Part 2 will have the energy sources (Acid, Electricity, Fire. Force, and Ice).     I'll provide a pdf for download and home printing once I have part 2 done.

Quickdraws

I’ve watched quite a few westerns* recently and also been watching a friend of mine play a samurai video game so quick draws are on the mind. Here are some rules for quick draws both modern and archaic for a bunch of different games. The core of the system is simple: two people stand looking each other dead in the eyes, weapons sheathed. An opposed check is made, the result of the check is dealt as damage.  Below are some rules for the specific mechanical manifestation of that in a few games I like. CAPERS The two parties make opposed Agility/Guns Reaction Checks. If the higher does not beat the lower by the Level of the dueler, then both suffer damage equal to the result of the check. If the high beats the lower by the Level of the lower, the higher comes off scot free. Dungeon Crawl Classics As above, use a standard attack roll, and use HD instead of Level. *If you get the chance, do watch the good the bad the weird (2008), amazing western that b...

CAPERS Offworld Locations: Olympia 1

Image
When exploring the galaxy a new place to investigate, visit, or lie low. Olympia 1 The Moon of Plenty Mining isn't the most glamorous job in the world but you cannot deny the money starts rolling in with the opening of the mine. Olympia 1 is a moon of the gas giant Olympia. Olympia 1 has some of the most plentiful Aether and Trembium mines ever seen.  The Dry Moon Not many places off of Earth are fully dry but Olympia is different. The mines set up were established by an American Company using the Imperial system. The small spaceship docking station is too small for ships built to the metric scale meaning they cannot dock. A new station built for metric ships is in the process of being made but it will be a few years until that happens, meaning nearly 100% of the people on the planet are Americans. Fortunately for people in need of a drink that doesn't mean 100% compliance with the law. New Morgantown The Big Dome The only city on this mostly desolate moon is New Morganstown. A...

Runner.home

The year is 2072.      The place is Neo Moines, Iowa, UCAS. A bustling city built on top of the ruins of old Des Moines. Rich with the abundance of wealth from the many soybean farms in the area Neo Moines is the place to be for people with strong ties to the soy industry, not really a great place for anyone else      As the world changed and the world wide web reverted to a local web those who find themselves to be incredibly online just got weirder. Now we find ourselves on runner.home the premier place for shadowrunners in the area. It has a reputation for being home to the worst posters on this side of the Rockies and the 25th best jobs on this side of Cedar Rapids. Those who find themselves frequents of the sights are some of the most maladjusted weirdos you can find on any network and are the heroes of this story.      Tune in next week for more info. This is going to be a shadowrun style game ran in a rudimentary ha...
