The March

After five days the army had been assembled and the march began. Following the roads down they came upon the castle of Eximious Queen. Toos told them she was a vassal of Ux-Quoroth and she should be more than willing to put down her army of “war lovers”. Intruiged to what he could mean the situation soon became clear. She was to marry whoever proved themselves the most glorious combatant in her greatest battle.

After squaring away various logistical details with Toos, they soon found themselves in the throne room of the war queen, besides her sat two formidable warriors; a woman by the name of Hyperion of Zul Rexmarath, and an obvious foreign man by the name of Clarisse Desjardin. Caulder began his spiel, waxing poetically on how a Ux Quoroth was under attack by heathens.

Roddy began to squirm, the draft dodger feeling strange as he realized he would be sending others to fight.

Amyl then began to tell of the creeping corruption of YGSÐÐ and how it threatened the life and health of all in the land.

The queen was swayed, saying she knew it would be a truly glorious battle. With the speaking of the word of glory the barons could see her two advisor warriors perk up. Her blade was sworn in protection of Ux Quoroth, and this may be a chance to win her hand. Over 150 raptor riders joined their rank, to ride out in the morning.

The party continued psouthward, as they marched through the grasslands along the road a group stampeding panicked wooly mammoths began to charge towards the army, thinking quickly Amyl took faer bullroarer’s and handed out nine to other cavalry members, rushing towards the charging beasts and filling the air with sound they scared them off, making sure none of their troops were harmed by the charge.

Slowed down by the distraction they stopped to rest in the House of Blessed Seclusion, a small wooden loge filled with whispering priests.

There they met Brother Waldgrave, a young man who seemed eager to leave that house of whispers. Some brief inquiry was made as to if he knew of Deacon Pharnoc, the priest both Amyl and Mekinimini had taken a liking to when she healed Mekinimini. He had never met her, as he had been confined to this small secluded town.

Soon it became clear he wished to leave the monastery, and after some fussing Roddy took him aside and said “I want to be clear, none of us are forcing you to do this. You don’t have to join us.”

The conflicted muranian’s speech did nothing to sway the young brother. He wished to know the outside world, and wanted to preach to the marching army on their crusade.

Roddy’s discomfort grew as the army settled in for the night.
